6 Latiné-Led NYC Cannabis Brands to Support

Although the War on Drugs is often talked about in the past tense, its harmful impacts are far from over. Some of these impacts remain strongly felt today in the Latiné community, and buying your cannabis products from Latiné-led cannabis brands can help right these wrongs.
At The Travel Agency, our mission is to leverage NYC’s legal cannabis industry to repair the damage done by the War on Drugs. One way we act on this mission is by spotlighting Black-owned cannabis brands and Latiné-led brands, and you can get to know the latter via our list below.
Our menu is always evolving, so some brands and products featured in this guide may be out of stock. Check our online menu to see the latest arrivals on our shelves.
1. FLAMER
Although best known as one of NYC’s premier queer-owned cannabis brands, FLAMER is also Latiné-led. The brand is co-founded by Khalil Acevedo, with art direction from Matías Alval. It’s known for its bright-red cannabis pre-rolls, irreverent packaging and cultivar names, and ongoing collaborations with LGBTQ+ icon and drag legend Sasha Colby.
FLAMER’s musky, citrusy Lobotomy pre-rolls are often found to make busy travelers go all but brain-dead. The Pillow Princess cultivar, beloved for its woodsy and cherry flavors, may be a perfect nightcap for a Valentine’s Day date. The papaya-forward Silly Goofy strain is known to lean social and giggly — grab a five-pack of pre-rolls for a group adventure at the club, a party, or just your couch.

2. Florette
Co-founded by father-daughter duo Luis and Bri Delgado, Florette is as beloved for its retro, colorful packaging as its sustainably cloned, hand-picked flower. Its pre-rolls don’t contain any trim or shake, but they do often contain concentrates, making them high-potency infused pre-rolls. Whether you choose cannabis flower or pre-rolls from Florette, expect premium cannabis cultivated via methods the Delgado family has long practiced.
For a pre-roll you can easily finish during a solo movie night, choose Florette’s LA Runtz infused pre-roll. It’s as remarkable for its sweet, creamy flavor as its skunky edge, with fans of this pre-roll saying it delivers full-on body melt and deep mental relaxation. For something more daytime-friendly, the Leo Stone’s Tourbillon cultivar from Florette may be your one-way ticket to getting in the zone.

3. STAYME7O
STAYME7O (pronounced “stay mellow”), which is Afro-Latino basketball legend Carmelo Anthony’s cannabis brand, is known for effects-driven, lifestyle-focused flower. Its cultivars fall into one of three categories of potential effects: Rev for focus and energy, Recover for balance and restoration, and Relax for calm and stress-busting.
To regain your footing amid a wild moment, consider STAYME7O’s Fadeaway Souffle flower, which is often found to slow things down without sapping energy. If you’re seeking pure calm, STAYME7O’s Cloud 7 cultivar may help you get there. From sun up to sundown, there’s a STAYME7O cultivar for whatever destination most calls your name.

4. Malachite
Exclusively available at all four The Travel Agency locations in NYC, Malachite is a woman- and Latiné-owned cannabis brand specializing in paper cones. Its boxes of 30 cones contain several designs that evoke indica, sativa, and hybrid experiences.
Whether you’re lighting up with the legendarily sharp Sour Diesel strain, the beloved nighttime companion Granddaddy Purple, or the iconic Blue Dream cultivar, there’s a Malachite cone for the occasion. Each cone is made from unrefined rice paper, and all the ink on the cones is water-based and edible. Plus, there’s neither toxic glue nor harmful chemicals in the cones, which are vegan and non-GMO. They’re your most gorgeous companion for any destination.
5. VOP
Founded by Mario “Sherbinski” Guzman and Victorine Deych-Guzman, VOP (an abbreviation for “Voice of the Plant”) is a cannabis brand rooted in community, connection, well-being, balance, and care. Its eighths of flower spotlight familiar cultivars and VOP-exclusive strains alike.
VOP Kush certainly falls into the latter category. This pungent yet creamy indica is derived from VOP’s in-house four-way OG alongside Juicy Skunk and Sunset Sherbert. Relatedly, VOP’s Runtz x Sunset Sherbert flower is known for its sweet, creamy flavor, and it’s often associated with happiness and energy. Whether you’re choosing VOP for poolside relaxation, winter wandering, or a good night’s rest, you’ll feel the care in its flower.
6. Boukét
Known for premium indoor-grown flower and pre-rolls as well as live resin vapes, Boukét pairs legacy genetics with bold terpene profiles and elegant packaging. With this Latiné-owned cannabis brand, you’ll find classic cultivars like Runtz and Cap Junky alongside less common strains like Gastro Pop and Walkabout. Whether you choose Boukét’s expertly cultivated flower or its smooth, flavor-rich vapes, you’ll fly in first class.
7. Doble Reina
This woman-owned, Latiné-owned brand’s stunning ceramic pipes are entirely handmade by Chilean sisters. They’re also so much more than just pipes — they easily scan to the uninitiated as elegant decor pieces. Display your Doble Reina pipe as a bold statement, then grab it when it’s time for a solo sesh that may take you far even as you stay put. Between your sessions, cleaning your pipe will be super easy thanks to the exterior and interior glazing.
Latiné vs. Hispanic: What’s the difference?
You’ll often see the terms “Latiné” and “Hispanic” used interchangeably, but they aren’t quite the same. “Latiné” means a person of any gender who’s either from a Latin American country or can trace their family roots to Latin America. The term “Latin America” means South America and the countries in North America south of, but not including, the U.S. Some, but not all, definitions include Caribbean nations as well.
“Hispanic” means that someone is from a Spanish-speaking community or can trace their roots to such a community. It’s a much more recent word than “Latiné” — the U.S. federal government coined it in the 1970s. Some people also argue that, unlike “Latiné,” the term “Hispanic” excludes the Brazilian and Indigenous populations of South America given its focus on Spanish speakers.
Interestingly, Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 through October 15 every year) is also widely referred to as Latiné Heritage Month. Regardless of the discourse around how “Hispanic” and “Latiné” differ as terms, buying cannabis products from the brands named in this guide supports the communities this month is intended to uplift. At The Travel Agency, elevating these communities and striving toward social equity is part and parcel of our mission.
